Having taken a roundabout path to consumer payments – having first studied biology − I have a unique approach to analyzing the payments market, viewing competitors through the lens of natural selection. I'm driven by the need to comprehend the advantages that new developments in fintech possess and see whether they can survive and grow in the environment in which they are launched. I think the most important aspect of any payments product or service has to be the use-case for the end-user, and that many financial services providers do not consider this essential angle strongly enough in their product launches.
